Arthur Oberascher takes over HILL Russia & Ukraine
Arthur Oberascher, CEO of Austria’s National Tourist Office for many years, is responsible as shareholder and general manager for the HILL markets Russia and Ukraine since Mid-November 2007.
After many years at the top of the Austrian tourism management as manager for Österreich Werbung, Oberascher decided to accept new entrepreneurial challenges, and at the same time return to his roots in HR-Management: »The step into entrepreneurship has been an issue for me for a long time – after 10 years in public tourism marketing this is an exciting new challenge for me to enjoy freedom and independence, and at the same time consciously face the entrepreneurial risk.«
To develop the markets Ukraine and Russia within the HILL network for a further economic step of development is the logical consequence for Oberascher – as he has been responsible for the personnel strategy of the provincial government of Styria for 20 years. Beyond that, the graduated Slavicist also has excellent connections in the eastern markets, and speaks Russian fluently.
The connection to HILL also has its origin in that time, turning from an employer-supplier relationship to a partnership through this step: »With Arthur Oberascher entering HILL, I expect our offices on location to be able to use the booming economic situation even better, and that the combination of western know-how with the profound knowledge of the local conditions will turn into another success story«, Othmar Hill happily states.
